About me

Hello, my name is Daniel Nowak. This is Jazzanowak on Rails, the place where I am writug about software development with Ruby and Rails.

My story

I was born 1980 in Berlin, Germany. After school, that was 1999 in the middle of the web 1.0 bubble, a friend and I started a business that should sell electricity on the internet. One of mine responsebilities were to programm the website. That was my first step into the world of software engineering.

After we realized that the business will not be sucessful I started working for several web companies. My main tasks were the creation of dynamic web pages. That wa not satifying me for a long time.

The next step was Mundwerk. I telecommunication start up founded in 2001. I was one of the first employees and the task was very interesting. We developed a VoiceXML Browse, using leading edge speech and telephone technology. I worked there for 3 years till the development of the voidcexml browser was stopped.

Then I joined Infopark the leading german Content Management System producer. Big costumers like the Dresdner Bank, high quality standards and no  start up atmosphere. A new experience for me. Here I leanred how important automated tests are and good design is, and what happens with software when you are working on it 10 years. At Infopark I worked  as a software developer and as consultant.

My next 2 steps were LinkLift and CaptainAd, the company I am working at the moment. But I am to tired to write any further line. So am continueing the story later …
